Obituary
Margaret F. (Quinn) Sheehan, 77, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late Thomas and Winifred (Maxwell) Quinn, she was a longtime East Longmeadow resident. She worked at Rehab West in Ludlow as a personal care assistant and for the East Longmeadow Public Schools as a paraprofessional. Peggy was a faithful communicant of St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a parish council member, a member of the Prayer Shawl and Rosary Ministries and she coordinated the Pro-Life Rose sale. An active community volunteer, Peggy loved children and was a longtime Nanny. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter M. Sheehan in 2009. She will be sadly missed by her three devoted daughters; Theresa Finnegan and her husband Daniel of Wilbraham, Kathleen Shevlin and Julieanne Trase, both of East Longmeadow, sister Marcella Noel of East Longmeadow, sister in law Mary Quinn of Wilbraham, nine beloved grandchildren: Thomas, Margaret “Molly” and Brigid Finnegan, Grace, Mairead and Bernard, Jr. Shevlin and Peter, Griffin and Michael Trase, as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her son in law Bernard Shevlin and brothers William and Thomas Quinn. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8th from 4 - 8 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may gather for Peggy's Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Michael's Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MA Citizens for Life, PO Box 96, Ludlow, MA 01056 or to New Spirit, Inc., 40 Riverview Terrace, Springfield, MA 01108-1629.
