Margaret R. (Ackerman) Cooley

Margaret �Margie� (Ackerman) Cooley, 98, died peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at home. Born in Auburn, NY to the late Edgar and Ruth (Krom) Ackerman, she has lived most of her life in East Longmeadow. A graduate of Commerce High School, she graduated from Bay Path Institute in 1938 and worked as a secretary for Bemis and Call in Springfield, and retired from the East Longmeadow School Department after 26 years of service. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of East Longmeadow. She is survived by her beloved husband of 76 years, Ralph E. �Mike� Cooley of East Longmeadow, her son Ralph E. Cooley and his wife Barbara of Springfield, two grandchildren; Heather Rehder and her husband Brian of Wake Forest, NC and Laura Cushman and her husband Scott of East Longmeadow and 2 great grandchildren; Hannah and Zachary Cushman. Margie was predeceased by her brother Dewitt Ackerman. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 21st at 10:30 am in Greenlawn Cemetery, East Longmeadow. Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, is in charge of the arrangements.
