Lloyd "Sonny" Laplante

Lloyd L. “Sonny” LaPlante, 90, died peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Born in Sheldon Springs, VT, he was the son of the late Leon M. LaPlante and Mildred (Wells) Galloni. Sonny served proudly in the US Army Reserves and worked as an oil burner service technician for many years. He was a former Manager of the Eagle’s Club and enjoyed golf, bowling, softball and watching football. An avid boater, Sonny enjoyed giving slow, scenic rides on the lake to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Ann (Auger) LaPlante, his children; Cynthia LaPlante of Springfield, Kevin LaPlante (M.J.) of Wilbraham, Lisa Dean of Feeding Hills, Steven LaPlante (Suzette) of Holland, Richard LaPlante of Lee, Kathleen Bryson of FL and Patricia Fournier of Springfield, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 11th from 4-6:30PM, concluding with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
