Liza Maria (Tranquilli) Syrek

Liza Maria (Tranquilli) Syrek, 84, died peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016 surrounded by her family. Born in Ludlow, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna (Girolemetti) Tranquilli, who she is now joining in her eternal journey. Liza grew up in Ludlow and attended Ludlow High School where she proudly graduated as class Salutatorian. After graduation, for more than 30 years, she enjoyed working at Monsanto, where she made many lifelong friends. Fifteen years ago, to be closer to her granddaughters Nina and Faith; Liza relocated to Wilbraham with her husband Carl. Liza had a great deal of love for her animals. She was a rescue advocate demonstrated most recently by rescuing her cat Gigi from Dakin. Prior to that, her most adored cat was Lola; a loving Maine Coon who brought her many years of joy. We would not be doing justice if all other pets who brought Liza happiness were not mentioned: Pepper, Inky, Dusty, Maggie, Jefferson, Gretchen and Rio - all have happily greeted her to join together on the next steps of her journey. Liza was witty and clever and able to bring smiles and laughter to family and close friends. While she did reflect the facade of prim and proper she had some "indulgences"�Shopping, Jewelry TV, QVC, Judge Judy, Snapped and several other crime programs - not to fret, her husband�s death was on the up and up. Her husband, Carl Syrek predeceased her in 2015. She leaves two daughters; Carla Germain and her husband Jerry of Wilbraham and Susan Lapinski and her husband Christopher of South Hadley, two granddaughters; Nina and Faith Germain. She was predeceased by two brothers; Ardino and Walter Tranquilli. Liza leaves many nieces and nephews; all who she loved dearly. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
