Obituary
Linda E. (Kerr) McComb, 67, died peacefully at home on Thursday, April 30, 2020. Born in Pittsfield to the late Roy and Genowefa (Machura) Kerr, she was the eldest of five children. In addition to her parents, Linda was also predeceased by her loving husband Kevin and her sister Debra A. Zimmerman. She will be sadly missed by her sister Pam Grant of Chicopee, her brothers Sam Kerr of Springfield, and Tom Kerr of Hollywood, Fl, her niece Andrea Pease and husband Ryan, her nephew Christopher Grant and wife Amy of Somers, CT, her niece Lindsey Kerr of Enfield, CT, her sister-in-law, Maryanne Gauvain of Wilbraham, and her cherished great nephews and nieces, Hunter, Patrick, and Conor Pease, Arianna Grant and Abby and Andrew Cardwell who meant the world to her and brought her the utmost joy in the later years of her life. Linda had a passion and natural gift for reaching out to help others because it came from the heart. She worked in healthcare most of her life and for the greatest part as a social worker after earning her Masters Degree with upper division honors distinction from Louisiana State University. She and her husband, Kevin worked tirelessly in their hometown of Baton Rouge with the “Family Find Center” to locate missing family members in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. After her husband’s death, Linda chose to return home to family where she was lovingly greeted by relatives, family pets and friends. She was received in fellowship at St. Mark’s Episcopalian Church of East Longmeadow and communed regularly with Father Peter and her spiritual family. They were all a beautiful gift from God that gave her much strength and hope in her last years. Linda was a bright student who never stopped learning and could often be found researching something or reading the latest book. She was an accomplished chef who loved to cook and created many fine dinners for the family’s enjoyment. Most of all, Linda was our dearest Sister, Auntie, and friend and she will be forever missed. The world is a better place because she was in it, but now it is time to let her be free of her earthly burdens. Godspeed dear Linda.

A Private Funeral Service will be held at Wilbraham Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service in Hillcrest Park Cemetery on Thursday, September  3rd, 2020.  Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
