Longtime Wilbraham resident, Lennart W. Lindahl, 94, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Born in Springfield, he was son of the late Otto and Margit (Jakobson) Lindahl. He worked as a tool designer for many local manufacturing companies for many years.
Len, along with Ruth, his wife of 65 years, loved spending time with his family and friends. From backyard weekend cookouts, skiing at favorite ski slopes, family camping at Camp Calumet, picnics at Mount Tom, Look Park and Quabbin Reservoir or just at a roadside picnic table on the Mohawk Trail. Len loved spending time with his family.
He was active in the life of his church from its’ beginnings in the 1960s. He served on many committees, including property to church council, church Sexton, Usher, and more. More recently, he continued to go to church every Sunday via their YouTube streaming platform.
He served in the Army National Guard for over 20 years and was proud of the service he was able to provide.
As his family continued to grow, with the arrival of grandchildren and great grandchildren, it gave him great joy to follow and to cheer them on in their activities and accomplishments. He loved watching them thrive and grow and enjoy life.
He was so proud of and happy that his family loved being together and doing things together and sharing life together……that made him a happy man. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Len was also predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth (Monrad) Lindahl, daughter Louise Lindahl Humphrey, brother Lawrence Lindahl and daughter in law Gwen K. Lindahl (Paul’s wife). He will be dearly missed by his three devoted children; Paul W. Lindahl (Yvonne Hoyt) of Freedom, NH, Karin Sardinha (Joseph) of Ellington, CT and Ann Stoddard (John) of Pomfret Center, CT, brother Bob Lindahl, 6 grandchildren; Kate McInnis (Matt), Kim Bzdafka (Max), Brian Sardinha (Tosha), Kristine Moreau (Kyle), Dennis Humphrey (Courtney) and Zachary Stoddard and 9 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may meet for Len’s Funeral Service on Friday, May 1st at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Epiphany Church, 758 Main St., Wilbraham. The family will greet guests at the church from 10am until the start of the Service. Burial will follow in Woodland Dell Cemetery, Wilbraham. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
