Lawrence J. Emerle

Former longtime Wilbraham resident Lawrence J. Emerle, 83, died peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Camden, NJ to the late Edward and Marie (Statdler) Emerle. He earned a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees from Villanova University and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of MA. He worked as a chemical engineer at Monsanto until his retirement in 1993, after 23 years of service. Larry owned and operated Emerle's Café in East Longmeadow. He was a member of the Wilbraham Rotary Club since 1985 where he was a past president, board member and a Paul Harris Fellow recipient. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Joyce P. (Felter) Emerle, their son Matthew Emerle of Chicopee, two daughters; Susanne Jones of Winchendon, MA and Rebecca Emerle of Louisville, CO and one cherished grandson Michael Oyler. Larry’s Funeral Service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
