Laura A. Mawaka

Laura Ann Mawaka, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 5th, 2023. She resided in Monson, Massachusetts for the majority of her adult life. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse for 26 years at Life Care Center of Wilbraham, after graduating from Holyoke Community College in 1996. Laura will be missed greatly by her coworkers at Life Care who have become a second family to her. Her heart and soul went into taking care of her patients and she gave them her everything.
Laura is survived by her three children, Paul F. Mawaka of Enfield, CT., Jennifer L. Czupryna (LaRiviere) and her husband Dalton Czupryna of Ware, MA., and Airman 1st Class Matthew C. LaRiviere of Northampton, MA. Her mother Claire Mawaka (Albino) and step father Geoff Howard of E. Longmeadow, and sisters Wendy Babula (Mawaka) of Wilbraham and Kimberly St. Marie (Mawaka) of Wilbraham. She had 4 nieces and nephews and a great-niece. Her partner Tony Dart of Monson, MA and his children, grandchildren and extended family will greatly miss her. Laura loved being their "Grammy".
She was predeceased fifty years ago this year by her father, Paul F. Mawaka, whom she missed every day, and her grandmother, Melodie Albino in 2018.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16th from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Laura’s Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
