Visitation
Prayer Service
Kenneth R. Gagne Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully March 8, 2026 at age 87, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will forever cherish his memory. Born on July 16, 1938, in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Harvey J. and Marie (Gelinas) Gagne.
Ken was raised and educated in Springfield, Massachusetts. Known for his strong work ethic and determination, he spent many years working for McDonald’s as a Senior Supervisor before pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit and opening four pizza shops of his own. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Hastie Fence Company in Agawam, Massachusetts.
While Ken worked hard throughout his life, what meant the most to him was his family. He found great joy in the simple moments spent with those he loved. He especially enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden, and spending time outdoors—places where he felt most at peace. Whether working in his yard or sharing stories with family, he created memories that will be treasured forever.
Ken was predeceased by his son, Kenneth R. Gagne Jr.; his sisters Mary, Barbara, Alice, and Marcella; and his brothers Joseph, John, William, and Robert.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Nancy (McCarthy) Gagne, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He also leaves behind his loving children: Andrew Gagne of Michigan, Deborah Gagne of Ludlow, Michael Gagne and his wife Nicole of Springfield, Tina Gagne and her husband Hillary of Springfield, and Joseph Gagne of Enfield, Connecticut.
Ken was a proud and loving grandfather to Lizzy, Misha, Lily, Ashley, Melissa, Rita, Andrew, and Dillon, and was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren who brought him much happiness. He also leaves behind his beloved “furry daughter,” Chelsea, who was always at his feet.
In addition, he leaves his “favorite” brother-in-law, Robert McCarthy of Westfield, Massachusetts, along with several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.
Ken will be remembered for his quiet strength, his hardworking spirit, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to those around him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his physician, Dr. Darren O’Neill, for the care, compassion, and kindness he showed Ken throughout the years.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the love and memories he leaves behind. The lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the love he gave so freely will live on through his family for generations. He will forever remain in our hearts and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17th from 4:00-5:00pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, concluding with Ken’s Funeral Service at 5:00pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Ken’s memory
Rest peacefully, Dad. Your love, your guidance, and the memories you gave us will remain with us always.
