Judith A. Kenney

Judith Ann (Tromblay) Kenney, 88, died peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Highview of Northampton. Born in Boston and adopted by the late Herman and Eleanor (Hart) Tromblay, she grew up in Springfield and graduated from Commerce High School in 1952. She then attended Bridgewater State Teachers College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught English for several years in Newton, MA, Somers, CT, and Columbia, SC.

Judy lived for many years in the Tampa Bay area in Florida, where she worked in the mortgage industry. Her volunteer activities included tutoring English language learners and campaigning for local Democratic candidates. She enjoyed discussing history and politics, and she loved reading biographies of historical figures.

Judy is survived by her husband, Raymond J. Kenney; their four children, Laura Kenney and her husband, Bill Sundstrom, of Palo Alto, CA, Sue Kenney of Portland, OR, Brian Kenney of Las Vegas, NV, and Paula Kenney and her husband, Alex Kuethe, of Sacramento, CA; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her daughter Janice. Services will be private. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
