Judith Ann (Davignon) Daniele, age 82, passed away at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Springfield to the late Armand and Eleanor (D’Amato) Davignon, Judith was raised in Springfield and graduated from Commerce High School. She lived in Longmeadow for 31 years before moving to Wilbraham to live with her daughter and family.
Judith worked at the former New England Telephone Company, Medical West, Baystate Medical Center, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. At each place she made lifelong friends. There were dinners with the “Telephone Company Girls,” lunches with the Blue Cross/Blue Shield friends, and decades of cherished “Golden Girls” dinners with her junior high and high school classmates. She formed new friendships everywhere she went—boot camp, spin class, and even at the stores she frequented. Judy was known for her kindness, generosity, and steadfast loyalty. She was an amazing friend to all, always thinking of others and offering help whenever it was needed.
Judith is survived by her children, Michael Daniele and his partner Erica Gonzalez, and Susan Prairie and her husband Jeffrey, all of Wilbraham; as well as her three beloved grandchildren: Michael and his fiancée Allison Lubrino of Stamford, Connecticut; Richard and his partner Kayleigh Lambert; and Ann Marie Prairie, all of Wilbraham. She also leaves her cousin, who was like a sister to her, Deborah Roncarati and her husband Anthony of Hilton Head, South Carolina; her niece, Margaret Ann Azzaro, who oversaw her medical care with expertise and compassion; and her two sister in laws; Lucy Daniele of Longmeadow and Patti Daniele of Wilbraham, and Marisa Prairie, her beloved friend and in-law, with whom she shared a deep bond.
Along with her parents, Judith will be greeted in Heaven by her husband of 58 years, Carmino Daniele; her brothers-in-law, Ciro and Carlo Daniele; her sisters-in-law, Anna, Louise, and Cynthia; her niece, Elizabeth Gianfelice; her dear friend and in-law, Richard Prairie; and her lifelong best friend, Ann Marie Sibilia.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4th, from 4–7 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Judith’s Funeral Mass on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham. She will be laid to rest, at a later date, with her husband at the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
