Obituary
Joyce S. (Stillman) Libby, 94, died peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at home surrounded by family. Born in Okemos, MI to the late Ralph and Ruth Biebesheimer Stillman, she had lived in Hampden since 1950. A longtime, faithful member of the Federated Community Church of Hampden, Joyce taught Sunday School and served on every church committee during her 70 years of membership. She was also a substitute teacher in the Hampden Schools for many years. Joyce was a Museum Educator at Old Sturbridge Village for 40 years. Joyce was predeceased by her daughter Carol L. Libby in 1995 and her husband Carl F. Libby in 2002. She is survived by her two devoted sons Bruce Libby and his wife Janet of Hampden and Steven Libby and his partner Jane Kearns of Tunbridge, VT, six cherished grandchildren; Jenna, Calixte, Stephen, Sarah, Samuel and Ian and seven beloved great grandchildren; Madison, Jackson, Nora, Judah, Poema, Julian and Remington. Joyce’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 11th at 10:30AM at the Federated Community Church of Hampden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s name to the Hampden Federated Community Church of Hampden, P.O. Box 246, 590 Main St, Hampden, MA 01036.
