Josephine �Jody� (Szlosek) Tobias, age 90, of Wilbraham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday November 20, 2015. Born in Three Rivers on September 18, 1925, Jody was the daughter of the late Walter and Katherine (Stachowicz) Szlosek who had each traveled from Poland in the early 1900s. Jody graduated from Palmer High School in 1942 and was a communicant of St. Cecilia�s Church in Wilbraham. Jody worked at the Curtiss Candy Company making Baby Ruth candy bars in Chicago, IL from 1949 to 1951. She moved back to Western Massachusetts and became the Branch Manager for Sears and Robuck in Ware, MA. After raising a family, Jody worked for more than twenty years at Milton Bradley in East Longmeadow. Jody was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Jody was proud of her Polish heritage and the greatest joys of Jody�s life were her seven grandchildren. She enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean and traveling throughout New England with her children and grandchildren. Jody also loved to swim, spending many summer days in her backyard pool and at the ocean. Jody is survived by her four sons, Rodney and Alan of Wilbraham, Kevin and his wife Laurie of Glastonbury, and Kenneth of Springfield, and daughter Debra Tobias and her husband Peter Austin of East Longmeadow, and seven grandchildren, Daniel, Kimberlyn, Sarah, Molly, Madelyn, Delaney and Christopher. She was predeceased by her brothers Rudy and Joseph Szlosek, and sisters Irene Polanski, Sophie Schultz, Mary Langlois, Genevieve Walulak and Veronica Ferry. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 � 10 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, followed by a Mass at 11 am at St. Cecilia�s Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham, MA 01095.
