Joseph P. Zuccala

Joseph Peter Zuccala, 64, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He was born in Springfield to the late Joseph and Jeanne (Carmel) Zuccala. Joe was a baker for more than 20 years at the former Gus & Paul’s Bakery in Springfield, and most recently was a custodian at Trinity United Methodist Church in Springfield. Very hard working and friendly, Joe loved history and genuinely liked everyone he met. He also enjoyed gardening and interacting with his customers. Joe was a gentle soul who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother James Zuccala in 2024. He is survived by his brother John Zuccala of Washington, DC, sisters; Patricia Davis and her husband Dennis of Springfield and Laura Povanda of PA, nieces and nephews; Chris Davis, Garrett Davis, Matt Povanda, Marissa Cagan and her husband Patrick, Nick Dawson and John Zuccala, as well as many cousins. Joe’s Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
