Obituary

Jon Peter Abrahamson, 86, died peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026 in Portland, ME. Born in Northampton, MA to the late Bertil and Glennie (Peterson) Abrahamson, he served his Country proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam era. Jon founded Enfield Auto Restoration in the early 1970s, owning and operating the business until 2016. He was an active member of the Rolls Royce Club, Classic Car Club of America and the Model A Ford Club and made his passion for cars into a lifelong career.

Jon was a quiet presence, living out his faith in Jesus. He was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, serving in many different roles over the years. His humor, wisdom, and faith will be remembered by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jon was also predeceased by his sister Karin Jenkins. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 61 years Charlene (Priest) Abrahamson, their two devoted daughters; Karen Larson and her husband Kent of Wilbraham and Lisa Lederer and her husband Jeff of Portland, ME, his brother Paul Abrahamson and his wife Priscilla of Barrington, RI, six cherished grandchildren; Jennie Larson, Ellie (Ben) Miller, Harrison Larson, Isabel Larson, Katie Lederer and Jenna Lederer and two adored great grandchildren; Noah and Gabriel Miller.

Jon’s Graveside Service with Military Honors will be Monday, June 15th at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St. Springfield. Jon’s Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Plumtree Church, 915 Plumtree Rd., Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1350 Broadway, Suite 1530, New York, NY 10018 or to Samaritan’s Purse Ministry, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
