Obituary
John “Jack” Worthing, 93, died peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at home. Born in Springfield to the late Wilfred and Margaret (Bryson) Worthing, he was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Springfield College where he was also on the swim team. Jack worked as a builder in the Wilbraham/East Longmeadow area for many years. He taught construction at Ludlow Jr. High School and Springfield Technical High School and served as the Aquatics Director at the YMCA in Holyoke for one year. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed many trips to Alaska, as well as Ireland and Switzerland. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years Eileen (Flynn) Worthing and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Crosier. A private burial will take place in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
