John J. �Jack� Phillips, 85, died on, January 3, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Highland Park, MI to the late John and Margaret (Shiel) Phillips, he was a 1947 graduate of Cathedral High School and earned a Bachelor�s Degree from Tufts University. He served for seven years in the MA Air National Guard. Jack was a retired Vice President from Mass Mutual Life Insurance Co. after 41 years of service. After his retirement, he volunteered as a greeter at Mercy Hospital. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia�s Church, a member of the Springfield Lodge of Elks #61 and belonged to the Mass Mutual 25 Year Club, and was active in Wilbraham youth sports as a coach and served as Treasurer of the hockey program. A former member of the Wilbraham Board of Appeals and the Country Club of Wilbraham, he enjoyed boating in the Nantucket Sound and his cottage in West Yarmouth. Jack leaves his devoted wife of 59 years Mary A. (Moores) Phillips, two sons; John F. Phillips and his wife Kelli and Michael A. Phillips, three brothers; Robert Phillips and his wife Elizabeth, William Phillips and his wife Maureen and Donald Phillips and his wife Katherine, as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 8th from 4:00 � 7:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Jack�s Funeral Mass on Saturday at 9:00 am at St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jack�s name may be made to St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham, MA 01095 or Springfield Lodge of Elks, #61, 440 Tiffany St., Springfield, MA 01108.
