Obituary
John Fournier passed away, unexpectedly but peacefully, at his home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Born in Holyoke, MA on July 1, 1962, John was the son of Marguerite (Provost) and the late Robert Fournier. John grew up in Chicopee and was adored by his entire family. He completed his education at Chicopee Comp, spent many years at Sunshine Village and since December 2001, he attended Baroco’s Adult Day Program. He medaled in candlepin bowling multiple times at the Special Olympics, loved his vacations with family, especially at Cape Cod, and all year he looked forward to his birthday. He also enjoyed good food, stuffed animals, Lite Brites, books, puzzles, music, movies, kaleidoscopes, maps and memorizing calendar dates. In addition to John’s father, he was predeceased by his dear brother Paul. In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his siblings and their families: Lola (Jim) Brady; Keith; David (Mary); Steven (Donna); and Lisa (Felix) Vachon. John also considered the following people as close family: Darleen and Mike Rzasa; and Christine Chartier, John’s loving caretaker for the past 11 years. In addition, John leaves many cherished cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 2 – 4 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. A Prayer Service will follow at 4 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
