Obituary
John “Jack” Robert Denby, 86, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was born in Springfield to the late Harold and Mildred (Manhire) Denby and was a longtime Wilbraham resident. He graduated from the University of CT with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering and earned an MBA from American International College. He worked for Pratt & Whitney, Smith & Wesson and DFF Corporation in Agawam. Jack loved spending time outdoors. His favorite activities included pigeon racing in the summer and skiing in the winter. He enjoyed many trips with the Aetna Ski Club. He derived great joy from the design and construction process and engaged in many home projects throughout the years. He was a man of few words and lived a life true to himself. He was a faithful husband and a devoted family man. Jack will be sadly missed by his children; Steven Denby and his wife Kathy of Windsor, CT, Margaret Hayes and her husband Dan of Worcester, lifetime companion Margaret (Metcalf) Denby, brother Ernest Denby and his wife Diane of FL and sister M. Mary Jones of Wilbraham. He was predeceased by his brother William Tippett. Jack’s funeral services will be private. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
