Obituary
Joan (Walker) Vecchio, 73, died peacefully on December 11, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Mineola, NY, to the late Herbert and Ruth Walker, she graduated from Lutheran High School in Brookville, NY and attended Holyoke Community College. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Wing Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband Anthony Vecchio, two daughters: Barbara Vecchio of Waltham, MA and Christine Vecchio of Delray Beach, FL, two brothers: Robert Walker of North Massapequa, NY and Paul Walker of Central Islip, NY and a sister Barbara Wilkeyson of Chestnut Ridge, NY. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14th from 4-7pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Joan’s Funeral will be Saturday, December 15th at 11am at Christ Church Cathedral, 35 Chestnut St., Springfield. Burial will be private at Adams Cemetery, Wilbraham. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
