Joan Mary (Sciarrino) Kennedy

Joan M. (Sciarrino) Kennedy, 55, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Hartford, CT, she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary and Special Education from St. Joseph University, West Hartford and received her Master�s degree in Early Childhood Development from Eastern Montana State University. Joan taught school at St. Paul�s Mission and at St. Jude�s in Montana, Annie Vinton School, Storrs, CT and The Grammar School in Wilbraham. An active communicant of St. Cecilia Church, she taught CCD, belonged to the Bible Study and the Women�s Club and was active in the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Programs. She was also a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. and was active in Girl Scouts. Joan leaves her beloved husband of 23 years Thomas J. Kennedy, III, three children; Teresa, Brian and Aidan Kennedy, her parents; James and Mary (Fredenberg) Sciarrino, three brothers; James, David and his wife Karen and Thomas and his wife Lynn Sciarrino, two sisters; Ellen Dowgewicz and her husband Alan and JayneAnne Herman and her husband Mitch and 26 nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation will be held on Monday 2:00 � 6:00pm at the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may gather for Joan�s Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00am at St. Cecilia�s Church. Burial will follow in Woodland Dell Cemetery, Wilbraham.
