Joan M. Hebert

Joan M. Hebert (née Fitzgerald), 81, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Born in Springfield to the late Thomas and Florence Fitzgerald, she was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield. Joan worked as a bookkeeper for the Wall Street Journal and the former Steiger’s Department Store. She loved spending time at the beach, was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, active in the Ludlow Senior Center community and known for her generous spirit. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert Hebert in 2005. She will be sadly missed by her loving family; children, Robert (Kimberly) Hebert, Jr. of Middlefield, Deborah (Kendall) Boyer of Ludlow, and Thomas Hebert of Wilbraham; brother, Raymond Fitzgerald of Ludlow; and four cherished grandchildren, Brittany (Eric Hersey) Hebert, Dawn (Jordan) Machado, Zachary Boyer and Preston Hebert; and great grandchildren, Alessia Hersey and Mya Machado. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may gather for Joan’s Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 12th at 10:30 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield.
