Obituary
Jeannette (Cantwell) Daly, 86, died peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born in Springfield to the late Thomas and Mary (Guihan) Cantwell, she grew up in Springfield, attending St. Ann’s Academy in Marlboro. She moved to Longmeadow to raise her family in her beloved family home on Greenacre Ave. Jeannette worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone and Mercy Hospital Communications Dept. She was a longtime, faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow and most recently attended Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Jeannette will long be remembered for hosting family parties in Longmeadow because her family was everything to her. She enjoyed summers at the Cape and was known as a good friend and a good neighbor. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph D. Daly in 2017 and her granddaughter Danielle in 1990. She will be sadly missed by her five devoted children: Kathleen Leo and her husband David of Wilbraham, Thomas Daly and his wife Krista of Westfield, Ellen Daly of West Springfield, Mary Jo Pierce and her husband Dean and Jennifer Spirito, all of Feeding Hills, beloved sister Catherine Noonan of Springfield and five cherished grandchildren: Zachary, Colin, Nicholas, Kaitlynn and Ryan. The family would like to thank Amedysis Home Care and Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care and special thanks and gratitude to Life Care Center of Wilbraham for providing a safe haven. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Jeannette’s Funeral Mass on Friday at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 387 Chestnut St., Springfield followed by burial at 1:00 PM in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 815 Worcester St., Springfield, MA 01151.
