Jeannette L. (Berthiaume) Rivers

Jeannette L. Rivers, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Wingate of Wilbraham. Daughter of the late Sylvester and Therese Berthiaume of Springfield, she was pre-deceased by her devoted husband of fifty-five years, Kenneth E. Rivers, an infant daughter, her brothers, Armand, Joseph, Leo, and Roland Berthiaume and her sisters, Doris Gallaher and Marguerite McGuigan of Springfield. She leaves her daughter Jeanne and son-in-law Robert Humphrey of Hampden, sisters Yvonne Sullivan and Cecile Chapman and husband Raymond, all of Enfield, CT, and sister-in-law Frances Berthiaume, as well as many nieces and nephews and her friends at Falcon Knoll in Wilbraham. A 53 year resident of Wilbraham, she was a communicant of St. Cecilia�s Parish for as many years. Jeannette was co-owner of Old Coach Antiques for twenty years and was a bookkeeper for Ken Rivers Used Cars for thirty years. In her youth she worked for the Ryan family of Springfield and during WWII, she was employed by Baldwin Duckworth in Springfield. More than anything, Jeannette will be remembered for her loving support of her extended family and helping wherever she could. Family and friends may meet for Jeannette�s Liturgy of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 5th at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham. Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 4th from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Wilbraham Funeral Home 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham.
