Jean (Opalinski) Lajzer

Jean (Opalinski) Lajzer, 90, died peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2016 at home, with her daughter Cindy and caregiver Leslie by her side. She was born in Ludlow to the late Walter and Honorata (Dobek) Opalinski. She worked for the Wilbraham School Department as a head cook for over 30 years. She also worked in the family business; W. F. Logan Insurance Agency, Inc. of Wilbraham. Jean was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. She was predeceased by her husband John S. J. Lajzer in 2007 and her son Robert P. Lajzer in 1979. She is survived by her son Stephen Lajzer and his wife Susan of Wilbraham, daughter Cynthia Lajzer of Wilbraham, four grandchildren; Jennifer Burkhart, Andrew, Brett and Dr. Amanda Lajzer, two great grandchildren; Jonathan Burkhart and Benjamin Lajzer. Jean was also predeceased by her four brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Jean�s Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Indian Orchard. Burial will take place in MA Veterans� Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
