Jean H. Doyle

July 24, 1931 — April 11, 2024

Jean H. Doyle, born on July 24, 1931, passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2024. In Heaven, she has been rejoined with the love of her life, and best friend, Jack Doyle. Jean was a graduate of the Elms College in Chicopee, MA. She had a love for all children and was a kindergarten and elementary school teacher in both Springfield and Longmeadow. After retiring, she continued in education by volunteering with local reading programs. She spent many of her summers on the Cape, and later in life, on the Florida Coast, where she had numerous friends. She loved the beach, enjoyed dancing, and more recently had the good fortune of finding her companion Richard Bragg, who enjoyed these with her. As a longtime cancer survivor, Jean always tried to help others going through similar circumstances, providing a shoulder to lean on or advice when things got rough. She is survived by her son Timothy Doyle and daughterin-law, Michelle of Wilbraham, MA, and her daughter Melissa Allen and son-in-law, Michael, and their children (her beloved grandchildren)Tyler,Mitchell,and Stephanie of Windermere, FL. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on May 23, 2024, at 11:00 am. at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow St, Longmeadow, MA. with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jean’s name to: Mass General Hospital, MGH Breast Cancer Research Fund or Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Mass General Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114-1101.
