Obituary
Janet T. (Davignon) Belli, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on August 23, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones at home following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Robert; daughter Gina Whipple and her husband Jim of Longmeadow, MA; daughter Julie (Laptas) Nelson and her husband Jim of Pittsfield, MA; daughter Debbie Boschetti and her husband Michael of Boston, MA; and son Michael Belli of Charleston, SC. Janet was predeceased by her daughter Karla Leavenworth, her parents Leo and Rachel Davignon, and her sisters Dorothy and Shirley. She was the best Memere to her 10 grandchildren; Jennifer (Whipple) House and her husband Timothy of West Lafayette, IN; Dan Whipple and his wife Melissa of Newton, NH; Jared Laptas and his fiance Justine Ray of Boston, MA; Erika Laptas and her fiance Max Granaroli of Philadelphia, PA; Nicholas Boschetti and his wife Julianne of Weston, MA; Ashley Laptas of Roswell, GA; Rachel Boschetti and her fiance Sandy Perez of Boston, MA; Taylor Leavenworth of Atlanta, GA; Dylan Belli and Hayley Belli of Charleston, SC. Memere (MayMay) adored her 3 great granddaughters; Emerson and Leah House of West Lafayette, IN and Liliana Whipple of Newton, NH. Janet’s greatest joy in life was raising her family and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. Family always came first. She was an interior decorator and owned Decorator Den by D’Avignon. She was a member of the Women’s Symphony League of Springfield, The Red Hat Society, and President of the Italian Women’s Club. She loved shopping, homemaking and dressed to the “nines” every day. She loved traveling with her best friend and husband, Robert. The family would like to thank Dr. Darren O’Neill and Dr. Emilio Melchionna for their care and compassion in taking care of Janet throughout her illness; her nurses, Ava, Michelle, Alena, Stella and Ellen, and physical therapists Patty and Meghan from Spectrum Health and Hospice; and her dedicated and compassionate caregivers, Brittney, Sabrina, Jalesa and Natasha. Her family would also like to thank Father C.J. of St. Mary’s Parish in Longmeadow, MA and Father James Scahill, formerly of St. Michael’s Parish in East Longmeadow, MA for their spiritual support to our family in her final days.
