Janet L. (Alvarez) Bartlett

Obituary
Janet L. Bartlett passed peacefully on April 26, 2021 at LifeCare Center in Wilbraham, MA, with loving family at her side. She was 90. She is survived by her 4 children: Susan Bartlett of Palmer, MA; Virginia (and Gene Malaterra) Bartlett of Windham, NH; Julie Emmetts of Spencer, MA; and Larry (and Lisa) Bartlett of Derry, NH; 7 grandchildren: Rebecca, Kahlia, Timothy, Daniel, Jonathan, Dennis and Maria; and her sister Deborah (and Edward) Eiseman of Bronx, NY.
Janet was born and raised in New York City. She worked in the fashion industry until she married Dwinell “Bart” Bartlett in 1955. They relocated to Framingham, MA where they became avid participants in town politics and community affairs. Janet was an active member of the League of Women Voters, the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, and was known as “the social director” of her Brookfield Circle neighborhood. She had a passion for helping people and organized everything from babysitting groups to fundraisers.
Janet then moved to Holliston, MA after her divorce and became a licensed real estate agent, predominantly at Century 21 Cuddy in Ashland, MA. She loved the real estate business; her clients throughout MetroWest often became lifelong friends. She enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and served as a board member for Habitat for Humanity throughout her real estate career. Janet will be remembered, and dearly missed, by many.
