Jane Elmer Godfrey, 100, passed away on November 3, 2024. Jane was born October 10, 1924 in Hartford, CT to George and Bessie Elmer. She grew up in Windsor, CT where she attended a two-room school house through 6th grade. After graduating from Windsor High School, she went to Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in Boston. She married Edward H. Godfrey April 26, 1947 and moved to Wilbraham, MA where she lived for 77 years. She was a dental hygienist for Doctor George Franklin for 40 years. Her retirement years were divided between Wilbraham, Porter ME, and Ft. Myers Beach FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, her parents and five of her six siblings: George Elmer, Bonita Reynholds, Nancy Anderson, Betsy Harding, and Joseph Elmer. She is survived by her three children; Jane (David) White; Edward (Judy) Godfrey; and Rebecca (Thomas) Lawlor; two grandsons Spencer (Jamie) and their children Sally, Ian, and Graham; and Grant (Keri) and their daughter Maribel. She is also survived by her sister Abigail and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She had a love of literature, birds, and gardening. She was a long-time member of the Wilbraham United Church. Family and friends may gather for Jane’s Funeral Service on Monday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilbraham United Church.
