Obituary
James A. Whitehead, age 49, of East Longmeadow passed away on August 11, 2020. Born in Springfield on February 9, 1971, Jim was a graduate of East Longmeadow High School, Class of 1989, and worked in the cable industry for many years, where he was fondly known as the “cable guy.” Jim loved gardening, cooking, country music, the Patriots, helping others and spending time with his family in Maine. Jim was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and loved his church family. After a valiant and courageous fight against cancer, Jim leaves his beloved wife of 26 years Christine (Johnston) Whitehead, his cherished children whom he loved and was so proud of, Isabella and Michael-Anthony. He also leaves his sister in law Sue Bryant and his best friend Todd Bryant who was like a brother to him. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 14th from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Jim will be laid to rest, privately for the family, in St. Mark’s Memorial Garden. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1 Porter Rd., East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
