Ludlow –Dr. James Power Reich, 82, passed away peacefully at home on May 23. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 9, 1941 to the late Charles and Mary (Power) Reich. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and after spending 2 years in the Air Force in Duluth, MN, dedicated 38 years to providing “gentle dentistry” to his patients in his private practice in Springfield, MA. He and his loving wife Patricia lived in Wilbraham for 40 years before settling in Ludlow 14 years ago. Jim enjoyed being active, and when not walking, biking, bowling in the St. Cecelia’s league, or golfing at Wilbraham Country Club, he would be watching the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and PGA golf. Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years Patricia; devoted children Dr. Deborah (David) Sullivan of Oxford, MA, and Michael (Kimberlee) Reich of Bedford, NH; grandchildren Meredith and Duncan Reich; and brothers Charles (Shirley) Reich of Jonesboro, GA and Raymond (Sue) Reich of Washington Depot, CT. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10am on May 31 at St. Cecelia’s Church in Wilbraham. Burial will be at a later date in St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield.
