James William Henrikson, 62, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and in the compassionate care of the staff at Pioneer Valley Health & Rehabilitation. Born in Worcester, he was a graduate of Longmeadow High School and worked as a contractor in residential construction. Jim will be fondly remembered for his love of classic rock, sunny beach days, and his quiet dedication to serving his community. Above all, he treasured his family - especially his grandson. He was a devoted son, father, brother, and uncle. In his later years, he found peace and acceptance through reconnecting with his faith and church community. His memory lives on in the rooms he painted, the driveways he plowed, and the communal outdoor spaces he tended. Each act is an expression of love and service. Jim is survived by his daughters, Amy and Sarah Henrikson; his grandson, Nathan James Baskerville (son of Sarah) of VA; his parents, Kenneth and Joan Henrikson of Springfield; his brothers, John Henrikson and his wife Irene, and Kenneth Henrikson of IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Karen (Griffin) Malloch of Longmeadow, his former wife and first love. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim’s life at his Memorial Service Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Plumtree Church, Springfield. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m., and a reception immediately afterward. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sézary Syndrome Society, Inc., 4426 Prairieview Dr, Madison, WI 53704 or to Plumtree Church, 915 Plumtree Rd, Springfield, MA 01119.
