James W. Fox

March 31, 1934 — June 29, 2023

James Warren Fox, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Born in Hicksville, NY to the late Richard and Anna (Vogt) Fox, he served his Country proudly in the US Army. Jim was a well-respected salesman for Charles Chips for 35 years. After retirement, he owned and operated “Jim’s Snacks” on Long Island, NY.

Jim loved working outdoors, barbecuing, gardening and tinkering in the garage where he created many beautiful pieces of furniture and other items. The kids in the neighborhood would always be at the Fox home. Jim loved playing sports with his children and, of course, his NY Mets.

More recently, he lived in Wilbraham with his daughter and son-in-law who are so grateful for the time he got to spend with his great-grandchildren.

Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Dale (Peterson) Fox in 2009 as well as his sister Geraldine Urcuiolio of GA. He will be sadly missed by his children; Brian Fox and girlfriend Jen of FL, Marie Forest and husband Donald of MA, sister Joan Schmitz of NY, grandchild Emerald Fish and husband Joshua and cherished great- grandchildren, Camden and Bennett. He also leaves nephews and nieces who will so miss their favorite Uncle Jimmy, as well as many cherished cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6 from 4-7 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham, MA 01095. Jim’s Committal Service with Military Honors will take place on Friday, July 7 at 2 PM at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11933. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, 520 8th Ave, New York, NY 10018 or online at www.JoinASPCA.org .
