James S. DeWolf passed away on Tuesday, November 21 at his Bluebird Estates home. James was born in Montague, MA, the son of Harry S. and Bertha (Gilliland) DeWolf. James was a proud Korean War Army Veteran. He earned his Bachelor of Industrial Arts degree from Fitchburg State College and a Masters of Education degree from University of Connecticut. James taught Industrial Arts and Technical Drawing at Minnechaug Regional High School in the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District for over 35 years. When he retired, he worked for another 20 years at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA, primarily in the Tin Shop. James was a gifted woodworker, crafter and mechanic. Family members and friends will cherish his handiwork, which includes furniture, wood strip canoes, and clocks. He restored a 1931 Model A Ford, as well as a 1933 Plymouth. He also created numerous articles of tin work and metal work. James was predeceased by his loving wife, Marion, in 2011. He was a devoted father to his daughters Karen Ricard (John Barrell) of Enfield, NH; Donna Harnish (Gregg) of Winchester, NH, and son Timothy DeWolf of Perkasie, PA. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Aaron and Nicole Harnish, a great-grandson Calvin Harnish, one more great grandchild on the way and his brother H. Summer DeWolf (Bobbie) of Mineral Bluff, GA. All arrangements were entrusted to Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. There will be a Celebration of Life at Grace Union Church in Wilbraham at 11am on Saturday April 13, 2024.
