James Curran, 74, passed away July 23rd at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield to the late James Sr. and Helen Curran. Jim graduated from Springfield Trade High School in 1968 then served in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1968-1974. He was a maintenance worker at CareOne at Redstone nursing home in East Longmeadow for 30 years. Before retiring he was a driver for Enterprise in CT. He was predeceased by his siblings William Missett, Eleanor Schwartz, Ann Curran and Thomas Curran. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife Susan. He leaves his nieces Ann Marie and Jennifer, his step-daughters Mindy and Carrie, his treasured grandchildren Samantha, Tiana, Kaaden and Susan’s family that loved him dearly. To his Country Diner family and his friends at the Pride station he was well known by the nickname “Sunshine”. He rambled through life leaving a path of people that won’t easily forget him. Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 1st from 11a-1p at Wilbraham Funeral Home followed by a committal ceremony at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 2p.
