Homer R. Angers, Jr., 89, died peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the Holyoke Soldiers� Home. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Homer R. Angers, Sr. and Marguerite (Bell) Angers. Homer lived in Springfield all his life with the exception of a tour in the United States Army during the second World War. He graduated from Springfield Technical High School and Westfield State College. He taught Industrial Arts in two high schools and also taught Automotive Technology at Springfield Technical Community College, retiring in 1988. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield for 57 years. He was predeceased by his best friend and loving wife of 62 years Dorothy (Mansfield) Angers on March 8, 2012. He leaves his beloved daughters; Mary Garcia and her husband Luis and Carol Catellier and her husband Pierre, five grandchildren; Alexander, Jessica and Daniel Garcia, Jean Pierre and Brooke Catellier. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th from 4:00 � 7:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd. Wilbraham. Funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 from the Wilbraham Funeral Home to a Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
