Hildegarde (Fitzgerald) Lamoureux, 98, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Wingate at East Longmeadow. Born in North Wilbraham to the late Patrick and Margaret (Byrne) Fitzgerald, she lived much of her life in Ludlow. Her early education was in the public schools of Wilbraham where she attended the No.8 school. She graduated from Classical High School in Springfield. At an early age she showed great interest in music and her parents started her in piano lessons at the age of seven. She continued her studies through the years and upon graduation from high school, she went to Boston to study with noted pianist and teacher, Heinrich Gebhard at Boston University. She was a member and past president of both the Tuesday Morning Music Club and Chromatic Club of Springfield. She taught piano for many years and especially enjoyed working with children. A faithful communicant of St. Cecilia�s Church, she was active in the Women�s Club, and also served as organist there and subsequently at Christ the King Church in Ludlow. Hildegarde was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Francis M. Lamoureux in 2013. She will be sadly missed by her son Edward F. Lamoureux and his wife Catherine of Hampden and her grandson Stephen Lamoureux and his wife Rhea of Ludlow. In addition to her husband, Hildegarde was also predeceased by her granddaughter Maureen Lamoureux. The family wishes to thank her friends and staff at Brookdale Assisted Living, Wingate at East Longmeadow and Spectrum Hospice Care. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16th from 4-6pm at the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Funeral will be Monday at 9am from Wilbraham Funeral Home to a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
