Obituary
Helen E. Auger, 108, of Wilbraham passed away peacefully on March 20th. She was born in Worcester to Mary and Anton Wiback in 1911, and lived there most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford, in 1991. Graduating from Worcester State College, she then taught school in Worcester and surrounding towns for 35 years. After retirement she attended college classes for seniors and became an accomplished water color artist. She loved playing the piano, traveling and socializing with her many friends. She kept her own home and lived independently until the age of 97. Her later years were spent at Orchard Valley Assisted Living where she was able to enjoy many friends, activities and compassionate caregivers.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Donna Hick, of Wilbraham, her grandchildren Bill Hick and wife Shefali of East Longmeadow and Wendy Robinson and husband Steve of Belchertown. Helen was very proud of her four great grandchildren and always kept informed of their many activities and accomplishments. Animals were very special to Helen and donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Thomas J. O'Conner Animal Control and Adoption Center. Wilbraham Funeral Home is handling arrangements and, due to present circumstances, there will be a private service and burial at the convenience of the family.
