Helen E. (Mccalligett) Guarente

Helen Emma (McCalligett) Browsky Guarente, 96, died peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Wingate at East Longmeadow. Born in Springfield to the late James E. and Emma (Berthiaume) McCalligett, she has lived most her life in Sixteen Acres, moving to Ludlow in 1993. A communicant of St. Elizabeth�s Church in Ludlow, she was an active member of the Springfield Chapter 68 Disabled American Veterans� Auxillary. Helen is survived by her daughter Kathleen M. LaValley and her husband Donald of East Longmeadow, three sons; John Browsky and his wife Marjorie of Wilbraham, Robert Browsky and his wife Denise of Tarpon Springs, FL and Michael Browsky of Conway, MA, a brother George McCalligett of Somers, CT, seven grandchildren; Kristen, Patrick, Michael, Joanne, Lynn, Christopher and Andrew and eight great grandchildren; Olivia, Emma, Mack, Finn, Jared, Ellamae, Ann and Riya. Helen was predeceased by her first husband Albert Browsky in 1974 and her second husband Frank Guarente in 1990, two brothers; Edward and James McCalligett and a sister Marie Freeman. There are no calling hours. Family and friends may gather for Helen�s Funeral Mass on Monday, September 14th at 10:00 am in St. Elizabeth�s Church, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow. Burial will follow in St. Michael�s Cemetery, Springfield. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph, 577 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
