Gisele J. Lizotte died peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, the day after her 89th birthday. Born to the late Joseph and Alexina (Asselin) Bernatchez, she was raised in Thetford-Mines, Quebec, Canada. She immigrated to the US in 1957 at the age of 23, where she met her husband Robert M. Lizotte, late of 2001. Gisele lived most of her life in Chicopee before moving to Wilbraham 6 years ago. She worked as a machine operator at National Blank Book for many years and was a faithful communicant of Nativity Church and St. Rose de Lima Parish in Chicopee and St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham.
Gisele loved to play cards with family and friends, was in a bowling league with her husband Bob, and she enjoyed working and playing Bingo at Nativity Church for many years. Her greatest gifts in life were her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Gisele loved to plan large Sunday meals with the whole crowd; the best was her boiled dinner. There were never too many and everyone was welcome to attend.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Gisele was also predeceased by her six siblings and her beloved son John M. Lizotte in 2018. She will be sadly missed by her two devoted daughters; Carole J. Tardif and her husband Hughie of Wilbraham and Sandra M. Nadeau and her husband Mark of Chicopee and Daughter-In law Dina of Chicopee, six grandchildren; Heather (Terry), Stephanie (Al), Mandie, Nikki (Dennis), Alex (girlfriend Krysii) and Samantha, extended grandchildren; Andy, Krissy and Andrew and eight great grandchildren; Karlee, Everett, Emma, Jaxon, Parker, Ava, Nina and Valerii, three extended great grandchildren Gwenyth, Bella and Azatelle. Gisele’s Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, May 23rd at 12 Noon at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham, followed by burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee. Visitation will precede the Mass from 9:30 – 11:30 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham.
