With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her long and courageous life, we announce the passing of Ghislene Charles, who went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old.
Born on November 19, 1941, Ghislene was a woman of extraordinary strength, resilience, and unwavering faith. As a single mother and a dedicated Marchande (Market Woman), she faced life's greatest hardships with remarkable fortitude. Through her relentless hard work and perseverance, she provided for her children and built a strong, lasting foundation so that they could achieve a better future. Her courage and sacrifice leave behind a proud legacy of devotion, family and triumph.
Ghislene was a loving mother, mother in law and grandmother whose devotion to her family knew no bounds. In her final years, she made her home with her son Ronald and his wife Laurice, cherished and surrounded by the warmth and care of those who loved her most.
She was the devoted mother of Ronald Charles and his wife Laurice Charles, Marie Guerda Francois and her husband Frankovy W. Francois, Dady Augustin, and Juna Jean Louis and her husband Jerry Saneaux Jean. She was the loving grandmother to Ronald, Jr., Meghane, Soraya Laurie Charles, and Mathanah Abayamaal Augustin.
"Mom, we are forever proud to call you ours. Your strength inspired us, your love sustained us, and your sacrifice gave us everything we have today. You fought the good fight, you finished the race, and you will be dearly missed beyond words. We love you so much."
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 6-8pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham.
