Obituary
Gertrude M. (Wynne) Kane, 92, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 13th. Born in Springfield, she worked in the business office of Mercy Hospital for 22 years. A communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church, she was a member of the former Our Lady of Hope Bowling League and their Women’s Guild and she enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and local nursing homes and schools. She was predeceased by her husband James Kane and their infant son Thomas. She is survived by her sons; John, William, James and Daniel Kane, daughters; Elizabeth Boffoli, Maureen Christofori and Melanie Jones, 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Gertrude’s Funeral will be Monday at 9am from Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, to a Mass at 10am at St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
