Gerald J. Ducharme, 78, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late Francis and Mary (Ceijka) Ducharme, he was raised, from the age of 4, by Casimir Zaborowski. Jerry served proudly in the US Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver for UPS for 25 years until his retirement. A Shriner, he belonged to the vintage auto unit and the legion of honor unit. Until recently, Jerry was an active volunteer at the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, serving on their firing party. He was predeceased by his wife Sue Ellen (Bryant) Ducharme and his two brothers; Robert and Michael Ducharme. He is survived by his three children; Gerald Ducharme, Jr. (Tami), Candy O’Connor and Richard Ducharme (Traci), his sister Patricia Hedspeth, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6th from 11AM to 1PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Committal Service with Military Honors will follow at 2PM at MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
