Obituary
George Duncan Link: husband, father, philanthropist, world traveler, Eagle Scout. At 87, George died peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2022 at home. Born and raised in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Craigie) Link.  He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Barbara Bowman, in 1960. He was a graduate of Cornell University and he received his MBA from Seton Hall University. Later, George was an Engineer at Xerox Corp., specializing in Development of Color Copying, retiring in 1996 after 40 years of service. He had previously worked at Armco Steel and Texas Instruments. Active in Rotary, George enjoyed travelling and had proudly visited all seven continents. He will be sadly missed by his children; Devon Bakum and her husband Borys, Daniel Link and his wife Marlene and Robert George Link and five cherished grandchildren; Colin Bakum and his fiancée Alexia Lekos, Trevor Link and his wife Lauren, Reagan Link, Jarod Bakum and Natalie Link. In addition to his parents, George was also predeceased by three siblings and his two cherished wives: Barbara (Bowman) Link (1999) and Marilyn (Krieger) Ryen (2015). Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wilbraham Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. At age 11, George’s life was saved with groundbreaking open heart surgery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the hospital that saved his life, Boston Children’s Hospital, 401 Park Dr., Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
