Obituary
Lifelong Wilbraham resident George W. Bready, Jr., 81, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late George W. and Emily G (Brown) Bready, he was a welder at the former Tambrands for 40 years until his retirement. He was a 60-year member of the Newton Masonic Lodge in Wilbraham. George was a member of Melha Shrine Temple and former president of the Oriental Band and belonged to the Scottish Rite. He was also longtime member of Grace Union Church. George is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Shirley A. (Gore) Bready, sons: Douglas P. Bready and his wife Kim of Wales, MA and their two daughters: Rebecca Bready of Springfield and Emily Bready of Wales, Mark A. Bready and his wife Bonney of Mobile, AL and their three children: Devon and his wife Raquel of Norfolk, VA, Taylor of Raleigh, NC and Tyler and his wife Shannon of Marietta, GA, two brothers: Richard D. Bready of FL and Joseph W. Bready of AZ, and his sister in law Agnes Gore Goodrich of Wilbraham. George’s burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Union Church, Chapel St., Wilbraham, MA 01095 or to Shriners’ Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
