Obituary
Gene Alan Parker, 84, died peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late George and Marion (Skinner) Parker, he served proudly in the US Marine Corps and the US Navy Reserves. Gene worked as a Warehouse Manager at Halmar Distributors for over 30 years until his retirement.
Gene loved going on vacation to the beach and traveling with his wife and family. He enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching and the lottery. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gene will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 61 years, Judy (Johnson) Parker, his children Tracey Martineau (Gary), Lee Ann Gaston (Dennis), Keith Parker (Patti), Melynda Peloquin (Jon) and Kyle Parker (Monique), as well has his grandchildren Jessica, Megan, Ian, Ty, Jarod, Sam, Devin, Rebecca, Jack, Kacy, Brett, Adam, Mike, Brett, Kate, Jason & Jennifer as well has his 15 great grandchildren.
Gene’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Visitation will precede the Service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. His Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, June 7 at 9:00 am at MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
