Obituary
Longtime Wilbraham resident Gayle E. (Moore) Whitehill, 84, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield to the late George and Bernice (Brown) Moore, she was the School Lunch Director for the Town of Wilbraham for 20 years until her retirement. A faithful member of Grace Union Church, Gayle served as church treasurer for 40 years and was active in their Women’s Christian Fellowship Group and church suppers. A member of the MA Food Director’s Assn., she was also a co-founder of the S & B Quilting Group and was a member for 20 years. Gayle will be sadly missed by her devoted husband of 64 years Roger G. Whitehill, her beloved daughters: Lucinda Brockway and her husband Wayne and Jayne Jones and her husband Jeremy, six loving grandchildren: Elizabeth, Alex, Sarah, Katie, Angie and Wendy and six cherished great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Gayle’s Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 4th at 10:00 AM at Grace Union Church. Committal Service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at MA Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Union Church, 10 Chapel St., Wilbraham, MA 01095.
