Frederick T. Brooks

Frederick Thomas Brooks, 83, passed away on October 28, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in Glen Ridge, NJ to Ronald and Margaret (Sharkey) Brooks. He graduated from Verona High School in 1949 and Middlebury College, class of 1953. During high school and college he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and soccer. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for New York Life Insurance Co. as a Corporate Pension Plan Administrator. He retired to East Orleans, Cape Cod in 1994 where he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Elaine (Kurz), his daughter Marie Chivers and her husband Dave of Wilbraham, son Tom of Westport, as well as his two grandsons; Nate and Adam. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Jean Kleme and her husband Edward of Whiting, NJ, a brother David of Verona, NJ and a brother Richard and his wife Jane of Bridgton, ME, as well as many nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held on Cape Cod at a later date. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
