Franklin E Clark, 93, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Harry and Margaret (Kutchman) Clark and lived most of his life in East Longmeadow. A graduate of Technical High School, Springfield he attended Norwich University on a football scholarship until joining the Army in 1942. Frank was a proud Army veteran and served as an Instrumentation Technical Specialist on the Pacific Front during WW2. Returning from the war, he worked at the Springfield Armory until its closing and transferred to the Air Force Contracts Office as an industrial engineer until his retirement in 1985. Frank was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting trips to the Quabbin Reservoir area and spending endless summers with family and friends at his cottage on Big Alum Lake. In retirement he created beautiful Early American furniture reproductions and traveled worldwide with his beloved wife Shirley. He was predeceased by Shirley in 2011 and his only sister Margaret earlier this year. He leaves his son Thomas Clark and his wife Diane of Fiskdale and daughter Susan Clark Shea of East Longmeadow, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nephews and a niece. Frank's Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 24 at 6 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 59 Bobala Rd., Holyoke, MA 01040.
