Frank Alwyn Everton, age 86, formerly of Hingham and Wilbraham, MA, passed away peacefully September 7, 2015 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was born, raised, and educated in Weymouth, MA prior to moving to Hingham. He was the loving husband of the late Janette (Litchfield) Everton, with whom he enjoyed 52 years of marriage. He leaves his three children, Judy Higginbottom and her husband Peter of Hanover, MA, Brian Everton of Fairfield, Vermont, and Rob Everton and his wife Maria (Sattler) of Stow, MA; his grandchildren, Amanda Higginbottom, and Brooke, Christopher, Thomas, Colin, and Katie Everton, and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves Clarice Baker of Wilbraham, with whom he enjoyed a loving relationship in recent years. Frank was a veteran of the United States Army and served at the conclusion of WWII. He retired in 1992 as Vice President and Executive Officer of Mass. Mutual Insurance Co. in Springfield, MA after 15 years of employment. Prior to Mass Mutual, he was employed for 20 years at New England Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Boston, MA. In his early life he was an avid photographer, and gardener. He was also a life-long antique collector and occasional dealer, auctioneer, and lecturer. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School and attended Boston University. Frank was a 55-year Mason with the Albert S. Newton Masonic Center in Wilbraham. He was a past Selectman and chairman in Wilbraham, MA, as well as member and chairman of the Personnel Board, and member and chairman of the Finance Committee. He also served as president and treasurer of the Wilbraham-Hampden Rotary Club. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 2:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd, Wilbraham. Interment will be private.
